- Describe a choice made by a character in the novel. Why did the character make this choice? Was his or her action justified?
I think that in the first part of the book, the main character, Ji Li's parents make a decision that she can't participateI think that in the first part of the book, the main character, Ji Li's parents make a decision that she can't participate in the dance of her life. She is highly disappointed, but I think her parents made a good decision, since they have a bad background, in the family. If she had done it, the family would be affected. The characters decision was good, because they were on the other side of the revolution, or at least their background was. Secondly, her parents want the best for her, but she didint understand. Later, in the book, the red guards take all the old lady's "four old's" things, and she realizes that she is on the other side of the war. I believe that they made the right descision, and they were just trying to protect Ji Ling, and themselves.
