Since this book is an autobiography, Ji-Li Jiang is writing about all events that happened when she was just a kid. One Social Justice issue is that her family was judged their whole life to a bad social status because her grandfather was a wealthy landlord. Her family starts to suffer a lot and they prevent Ji-Li to become a normal kid chasing her dreams. Everything that happened to Ji-Li jiang (author) as a kid influenced the book to become what it is. All of the problems she had and all the things that came with her family being judged in society influenced this book to become what it ended. Ji-Li Jiang wants to inform us that not every kid has a great childhood, but you can chase your dreams somehow in the same way, you just have to never give up.
