"I was happy because I was always loved and respected."

When I've read this line, I flet that something bad is going to happen to her. I thought the happiness showed unhappiness o sadness would come soon next. I believe it is written as a metaphor, because it doesn't say clearly the darkness but I can sence that. Moreover, on the line after this quote, there are words that say Ji-Li trusted the Communist Party, and Chairman Mao. Communism is that a thought to try to achieve a society that is free from the gap between rich people and poor people. Therefore I think that movement is good for everyone. However he, Chairman Mao killed 78 million of people to make a world of the ideal. I was reminded a fairy tale, Hansel and Gretel. What happened in the time period is a little bit similar to this story. gingerbread house is Communist Party that is hope and beginning og the tragedy.

"Until the audition I felt like the luckiest girl in the world."

She learned that everyone's life cannot go on the way that they want without pain. And they cannot look away from home truth or painful things. In my life there are some or many hardships. But I believe when I overcome the wall I can get happiness. This event that she couldn't be allowed to go the audition because of the situation of her family was the first wall of her life. Happiness is not a destination. Happiness is up to you. I made this picture. This image shows that happiness is what you make, so you cannot find it  by just searching. And the quote means that we need a little bit of rain to see a rainbow.

  1. I really liked your post! I liked how you compared it to stories or quotes that can explain more of what the phrase meant. I also liked how you told what it meant to you, and how you went down into more detail and how you felt about it. I liked how you said " Happiness is not a destination." Your post was both inspiring and informational.
